Question: I am attracted to the philosophy of acintya-bheda-abheda and I regard Kṛṣṇa as my iṣṭa-deva. However, Śrī Baladeva Vidyābhūṣaṇa’s interpretation of Bhagavad Gītā 16:19-20 bothers me because I cannot accept the idea that Kṛṣṇa keeps certain jīvās in constant suffering, devoid of any opportunity to attain Him. Śrī Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura takes a different view. Is it necessary to accept that certain jīvās will be trapped in saṁsāra forever and will it be considered apasiddhānta if I believe that Bhagavān will liberate all jīvās in due time?
Answer: Śrī Baladeva’s explanation does not match with Śrī Viśvanātha and other ācāryas such as Śrī Jīvā Gosvāmī. Additionally, Śrī Baladeva’s explanation goes against Kṛṣṇa’s own statements in Bhagavad Gītā4.9, 4.11, and other verses. I personally do not accept Śrī Baladeva’s explanation.
Question: Śrī Baladeva says that there are two types of jīvās: one who is inimical towards Kṛṣṇa, but trusts in the Vedas, while the second kind is inimical towards both Kṛṣṇa and the Vedas. You have explained previously that Kṛṣṇa will liberate the first type of jīvā, while the second type is doomed to rotate in the cycle of birth and death unless a bhakta bestows their mercy upon them.
Does Bhagavān have nitya-siddhas who repeatedly descend to help these second types of jīvās? Or is it that Bhagavān slays these second type of jīvās and liberates them directly? Does He liberate them through krama-mukti, through his āveśa-avatāras, or through other avatāras other than Krishna rūpa? Essentially, does Bhagavān have His ways to liberate all jīvās, regardless of what type of jīvā they are?
Is it considered apasiddhanta if I believe Kṛṣṇa arranges māyā and the law of karma in such a way that even these most fallen jīvās turn back to Him through some means?
Answer: What is the problem with this? Saṁsāra runs on the principle of karma. The people who are inimical towards the Vedas and Kṛṣṇa do not want to get out of the material world. They reap the outcome of their good and bad karma. I do not see any problem or injustice in this system. Kṛṣṇa does not punish them, but simply gives the result of their karma.
It is you who wants them to be liberated, but I am unable to understand why you should be so keen for them to achieve liberation when they themselves do not desire it.
