At one time, the Indian people felt proud of their developments in medical science, philosophy and traditions—dating back over 5,000 years. However, over the past few centuries, there has been a profound shift in their thinking as Western economies and science have risen and as India has declined from its leading global position 400 years ago. The dominance of the West has cast a shadow over India’s indigenous knowledge systems, resulting in a significant deterioration of scholarship in Eastern thought and practices, and, as a consequence, an erosion of faith on ancient Indian wisdom worldwide.

Jiva aims to reestablish the Indian knowledge system in its own right—on its own terms, as an independent school of thought supported by an Eastern framework built with unassailable integrity. This can be achieved by creating Jivagram—a center of excellence in health, education and academics that will attract the finest minds in the world to preserve and promote Ayurveda and Vedic philosophy. As a result, we believe Jivagram will have considerable influence on people of all nations, creating a more holistic vision in the vast array of life disciplines—economics, the sciences, technology, philosophy, the environment, religion, arts, and so on. By doing so, we aim to create a change in people’s lifestyles that will bring about a society that is healthy, wealthy, wise, and fearless.
