Panchakarma is a set of five
detoxification therapies prescribed to bring you back into balance.
A patient being treated in Ayurveda is considered a purusha, not
merely a body. A purusha is the total combination of body, mind,
senses, and soul. The Ayurvedic doctor aims to achieve complete
health for the patient, not just to suppress or alleviate troubling
physical symptoms. The approach is to diagnose the root cause and
eliminate it, allowing genuine healing to take place.
Ayurveda propounds the principle of natural balance within the body,
and harmony with the environment. Modern life often violates the
principles of natural living and leads to manifestation of disease.
Panchakarma is a powerful detoxification and rejuvenation program
that cleanses the body of toxins, enhances sensory functions and
brings clarity of mind. Panchakarma not only uproots stubborn
diseases from their base, but also restores your natural state of
health through a complete revitalization.
The Panchakarma therapies require extensive training to administer
and have a special role in the treatment of disease. The Ayurvedic
Panchakarma Therapist program focuses on the causes of disease, the
concept of Shodhana (detoxification), and expounds in detail on the
five therapies – Vamana (therapeutic emesis), Virechana (therapeutic
purgation), Vasti (therapeutic enema), Nasya (nasal therapy) and
Raktamokshana (therapeutic blood-letting). The course also offers a
clear insight into the fundamental principles of Ayurveda and their
applications in healthcare.
