“Indispensable to anyone
who is connected to the process of educating children.”
The 10 Laws of Learning makes itself
indispensable to anyone who is connected to the process of
educating children—teachers, principals, parents or even
children themselves. In fact, as a one-time housemaster,
frequent teacher and principal and a lifelong learner, I
find that this book does a remarkable job of explaining
the factors that contribute to a child’s success through
useful examples, practical suggestions and an engaging
style.
Steve’s book is premised on the idea that we are all
stakeholders in the process of educating our children and
that we can play an active role in helping them become the
‘champions’ that Steve and I believe they are!

“A useful book for every
parent who is serious about parenting.”
Congratulations, Steve!
The 10 Laws of Learning (LOL) is out. I am sure it will be
a useful book for every parent who is serious about
parenting.
In the Indian context, I may take liberty to contend that
parents take their children for granted. They assume at
every stage in the growth of the child that as parents
they are doing the right things. More surprisingly, they
think that they are doing the right things even while they
are doing nothing that can be described, even remotely, as
parenting.
LOL is a simple, easy to follow set of do’s and don’t that
all of us can practice and imbibe.
I compliment you for coming out this extremely well
written book on a very relevant topic. We must ensure that
the book reaches as many readers as possible.

Pandey, Principal

“Extremely informative and
very well written.”
I have found The 10 laws of Learning for Parents to
be extremely informative and very well written. I am
confident that teachers and parents will find it
exceedingly valuable in assisting them to understand their
children.

The Cambridge Schools, Noida
“Shows the way to our
teachers and parents.”
Congratulations! I hope The
10 laws of Learning for Parents will show the way to
our teachers and parents as well to the most important
processes of human life, which are—teaching and learning.
—Deepak Madhok, Chairman
Sunbeam Group of
Educational Institutions, Varanasi
“Encourages children to
think for themselves and make their own decisions.”
This book is one that
gently encourages us to move us away from [the
traditional] model to one in which children must
think for themselves and make their own decisions.
It tells us to allow them to go out into the world
on their own and find their own answers; to
encourage them to be open-minded and look for new
things in unexpected places; to instill in them the
value of discipline; teach them to learn—and also to
play; to use discipline consistently instead of
indulging our frustration with sporadic violence.

What I liked about this book is that it appears to
have taken stock of a broad base of dysfunctional
behaviour Indian children tend to show, identified
the parental dysfunctional behaviour that sets these
off, and then put together a set of simple
principles that would avoid these and stimulate and
nurture healthy, positive conduct instead.
